(A picture about the colonization in Africa)
In the pass the European and the British colonized a lot of countries. To colonized other countries they had many reasons, although we all know some of the reason were actually the excuse for their selfishness. The first main reason was to make more territory. If they have more territory the queen (or the king) would be proud of the person that went to colonized another countries. To let queen or king be proud of them is such a honor. They could sacrifice everything including their own life for getting this glory praises. Also the country would be stronger. In the pass, there are a lots of war, it is important to let people know their country was strong, so that none of the country could barely fight with them. The second main reason was to let people follow them. They want people to follow their cultures and languages. They believe that their cultures and languages are the best. Everyone should learn and follow. In the pass they actually didn't accept anyone to be different with them. People who didn't understand English didn't used fork and spoon to eat...... should be exclude be the society, that kind of people had no right to live they thought. After their cruel governance the colonized would sonly become just like them, the best races in the world, they thought. They thought they were helping people to become the best race the world. The third main reason was to preach their religions. They think their God was the only God, so people have to believe in their God. They thought if people didn’t follow their God, they would get punished. Also, there is some reason that were not really reasonable like: to take their burden…….

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment!!
ReplyDeleteCan I be a bit critical??
As reply, what you said in your post is impressive and concise. I basically like your post and the contents. However, the tense you used is sometimes in disorder. First you used past tense but after few sentences you suddenly started using present tense (perhaps, I also often make the same mistakes). Moreover, you gave too much focus on the power which was one of the main reasons of colonizing other countries. While it’s one of the main reasons, there were a lot more reasons they colonized other countries. For example, they wanted to take over the territories because of resources and farm. They could earn money by selling the resources extracted from the colonized land or by exporting them to overseas. Also, they wanted to get more farms so that they could provide food back home or to fill their own stomach. However, the reasons you stated were precise and clear for the readers to understand.
Overall, the work you have completed and uploaded is true and persuasive. I like it!
WELL DONE!
